Vortex The Pretty MGGJ Edition

A 3d platformer inspired by the likes of tony hawks pro skater and crash bandicoot, where you are a girl (or boy) in a poofy billowing pretty princess dress. Twirl your dress to solve problems, complete activities, beat challenges, explore wide, and scale great heights!

Your dress is gorgeously pretty to look at but it’s nothing to scoff at either! especially while twirling! as it can twirl up walls, off ramps and even on the ceiling! Plus those billowing frills are razor sharp to your foes as you bash them in with them! 

Join Vortex The Pretty, with her brother Victor, as you take control of one of them, where they and two of their friends Malena and Pia find a gopher hole and fall into it. where they are all lead into a seemly magical world!

They all meet the mysterious mother of that world and are invited to play her games! are you ready to join in and play?

Controls:

Directional Keys: moves you in those directions of the perspective of what the camera is looking toward, while swimming or soaring, up positions you downward while down positions you upward, left or right keys rotate you in those directions, if airing, up and down keys do nothing, left or right keys moves you in those directions side to side of what you are facing toward.

X: Hold this to remain "Gyro Twirling", while gyro twirling you can move and stay on walls and/or the ceiling, or fly (air) off of ramps or walls.

S: press this to jump, while swimming or soaring, holding this propels you forward of what you are facing, if airing, pressing this "Air Dives" you forward, were you can re-cling to a surface if you dive into.

A: holding this rotates the camera leftward

D: holding this rotates the camera rightward

W:  holding this brings the camera close on the side of you

Z: holding this brings the camera away from you overhead

SPACE: pressing this pops up the key mapper menu, so you can configure your controls here.

(Update Apr 25nd 2023: This update is a complete overhaul  which finishes the game, title screen, the reintroduction of the male playable character, improved animations and cutscenes, stamina and health to make the game challenging, also lives! the linux and windows versions are now tested and optimized to run at full speed. This version was built for the Magical Girl Game Jam 3 as a late submission.
